Equine Herbals International is owned and managed by Vanessa and James Hart.
Both are qualified herbalists and professional members of the New Zealand Association of Medical Herbalists.

For over fifteen years James and Vanessa owned and operated one of New Zealand's leading herbal extract companies. They manufactured and supplied a wide range of herbal products to health professionals, pharmacies, health food shops, veterinarians, tack shops and other retail outlets.

The Equine Herbals range of products are unique in that from inception they were developed, formulated and manufactured by qualified Herbalists. Equine Herbals' products can be used by all equine disciplines and were even used in Peter Jackson's block buster movie trilogy 'The Lord of the Rings' where horses played a central role in its massive international success.

The equine product range was innovative in that it was based on liquid extracts (more) as opposed to the more common dry herb preparations. With little encouragement the products rapidly gained a reputation as quality reliable and efficacious supplements.

As well as their herbal knowledge and manufacturing ability, James and Vanessa
have wide experience in the horse industry, having bred competition horses since 1983. Their stud has produced a number of successful horses that have representing their country.

The foundation stallion Haajii, was also the sire of Chesterfield and closely related to Reddy Teddy. Both were ridden by Blyth Tait representing New Zealand at Olympic level on several occasions.
